David Sanders L.Ac.

David is currently a licensed acupuncturist in Arizona and North Carolina and teaches part-time at the Arizona College of Acupuncture (ASAOM).

His journey in the healing arts began exploring the healing property of music. Through many late-night dance sessions in early adulthood, David discovered that his synesthesia gave shape and color to sound and movement. He further developed this awareness teaching ballroom dance and yoga, then began practicing taijichuan, qigong, and various shaolin temple arts under the tutelage of several gifted instructors in southeast Michigan. It was here that David discovered the 'color' and 'shape' he associated with feelings of movement match the meridians and their correspondences in Chinese Medicine.

This helped David comprehend the cosmology of Chinese medicine and construct a philosophy of life that helped transform many hardships into valuable lessons. These lessons lend understanding to the needs of those who may feel they are too sensitive for the world in which we live, and compassion for all forms of struggle. He believes we all have an innate ability to heal ourselves and finds acupuncture to be a process by which anyone can tune in to that inner wisdom.

David practices meridian therapy style acupuncture informed by the NanJing and other classics, with training in Tuina and other bodywork modalities.  He spends his free time exploring the beauty found in nature.
