Lately, CBD has become widely popular. We’ve heard about restaurants adding it to foods and drinks and you can now pick up CBD just about anywhere and soon big chain pharmacies will be carrying it as well.

First let’s talk about what is CBD?

Projectcbd.org gives this definition of what CBD as:

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.

CBD is not THC. THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is the chemical responsible for most of marijuana's psychological effects. It acts much like the cannabinoid chemicals made naturally by the body, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA).

CBD will not give you the feeling of “being high”, but it can give you pain relief and help with sleeping.

Here at Jade Star we offer a variety of CBD products and we also offer the use of CBD salve during any of our medical massages at no additional cost to our patients. If you are interested in a CBD massage just let your LMT (Licensed Massage Therapist) know at the time of your appointment.
